We also collect some information automatically:

• Usage information — pages viewed, clicks and session recordings, through PostHog
• Where you first came from — on your first visit we keep a small cookie (for 90 days) with the website that linked you here (its address, without any search terms), the page you landed on, and any campaign tags in the link. If you create an account, we save it once with your account; if you never sign up, it stays in your browser.
• Load Planner Pro without an account — if you buy it without signing in, this browser keeps a cookie with your purchase reference (your Polar customer number, signed by us) so Pro stays unlocked here. We send the same link to the email you paid with, to use Pro on another computer. Polar, the merchant of record, holds the payment details.
• Daily counts on our free tools (Load Planner, sanctions screening) — to count each visitor once per day, we keep a scrambled code (a hash) made from your IP address and browser type for 2 days, then delete it. We do not store the IP address itself, and the counts we keep are daily totals only.
